Role Summary:
Compass Surgical Partners is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide expert legal guidance on healthcare transactions. This role is critical to supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives, focusing on healthcare-related partnerships and transactions.
The Corporate Counsel will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and work closely with the business development team, contributing to the expansion of Compass Surgical Partners and its affiliates.
This is a remote position; however, we are prioritizing candidates in the Eastern or Central time zone. Our company headquarters are in Raleigh, NC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on healthcare transactions, particularly in the areas of ambulatory surgery center development and acquisitions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents related to the development and acquisition of ambulatory surgery centers, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of healthcare-related agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business development and executive teams to integrate legal considerations into growth strategies and decision-making.
- Conduct due diligence reviews for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, providing legal insights and identifying potential risks.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry regulations, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation for the company.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school (required).
- Experience: At least 4+ years of legal practice, with significant experience in healthcare transactions, including ambulatory surgery center development, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Licensure: Active license to practice law, in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts related to ambulatory surgery centers, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and provide clear legal guidance.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated track record of developing innovative legal solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with healthcare licensing and foundational knowledge of ambulatory surgery center operations.
